The Church exists today to fulfil the mission of Christ. The parish community is God’s instrument in fulfilling this mission in the local area. The Parish Pastoral Council is a small group of committed people of God who are being called upon to pray and reflect pastoral matters and administration and collaborate in planning so as to take the parish forward. They also provide valuable insights and suggestions based on their skills in order to put into effectively matters pertaining to the parish for the overall wellbeing of the parish community.

Some of the objectives of the council include planning, implementing and evaluating projects like evangelization and mission, social justice and fundraising, discerning the needs of parish and community, co-ordinating activities of parish groups, endeavouring to involve the whole of the parish in the work of the Church in response to the present and future needs. If the parish pastoral council is able to implement the objectives of the parish, then it would become a vibrant community.
